An organized morning routine can set you up for a productive day. Here are three ways to make your morning routine more effective
What is your morning routine like? A morning routine is a set of habits or actions that someone goes through when they wake up in the morning. It can look differently for different people. Some people wake up at dawn and go through a series of tasks before heading off to work. Other people may have a specific routine to getting ready for the day. And for some people, their only morning routine is to hit the snooze button over and over.
No matter what your style is, being intentional about your morning routine and setting up regular, healthy habits in the morning can benefit you beyond the rest of the day. The right morning routine for you can improve your mental health, time management and overall well being. With that in mind, here are three ways to make your morning routine more effective.
Did you know that the best morning routine actually starts the night (or day) before? That’s right, the most efficient morning routines are structured before the sun even goes up. Planning your morning routine the night before will set you up so that you know what to do immediately when you wake up. That way, you can save your precious morning hours doing what you want to do rather than thinking about what you want to do. For people with a foggy brain in the morning, this is a must-do!
Once you have a plan for the morning (or mornings if you want to plan ahead for the week) make sure to write it down. Don’t rely on your morning brain to remember everything! Use a tool like Assembly’s Notebook to keep track of all your morning routine inspiration.
As you’re planning your morning routine, put together an agenda to write it all down (as we suggested just above this!). Keeping a daily agenda can help you be organized and keep track of your activities and progress. Staying organized is key to productivity and consistency. Plus, you’re more likely to follow through on your goals after writing them down. Studies have shown that writing down your goals increases your likelihood of reaching them!
There are a lot of tools out there to keep a daily agenda. You can go as simple as handwriting them on paper or you can go digital. If you go digital, make sure to use a tool that can meet all your needs and helps you achieve your goals. A fully customizable agenda tool like Assembly’s Daily/Weekly Agenda Flow makes planning easy.
When you are writing down your agenda, an important, but sometimes neglected, step is to prioritize and segment your tasks! Remember, the more organized, the more efficient! When you have your list of actions, take some time to think about what is most and least important to do in the morning. Sometimes the priority can be simply based on preference; for instance maybe you need a cup of coffee before anything else. Sometimes it can be dependent on what’s happening the rest of the day; maybe you have a due date coming soon so you want to set aside some time in the morning to review your work.
Segmenting your tasks is also a great organizational tool. Some part of your morning routine could be dedicated to self-care and health like morning stretches or a sunrise jog. Other parts could be centered around work like checking your messages and emails. Family, hygiene, personal goals; there are so many different ways to categorize your tasks.
Prioritizing and segmenting your tasks should be something that’s easy to do for your agenda. Make sure your agenda tool has flexibility capabilities like moving around priorities or putting together tags for your segments. Assembly’s agenda workflow can do that and more, and you can learn about the other features here.

Great question! You can customize your core values to match your organization's to boost and track alignment. You can change your currency from the 🏆 emoji (our default) to any emoji of your choice. You can swap our logo for your own. You can also set up company culture rewards such as, "Lunch with the CEO," "Buy a book on us," and so much more!
While we recommend a peer to peer set up where anyone in your organization can give or receive recognition, you can set up Assembly however you want. If you need to limit the people who can give or receive recognition, that's perfectly fine and can be done from your Admin, here.
Assembly connects to the tools your employees use every day to offer an easy, seamless experience with minimal change management.
Assembly has integrations with HCM/HRIS systems like ADP, Google, Office 365, and Slack. We also integrate with communication tools like Slack and Teams so you and your employees can access Assembly wherever they work now.
That depends on the company's permissions set up. That said, over 90% of the employees on Assembly's platform are recognized on a monthly basis. That means nearly every employee across all of our customers are receiving regular recognition from their peers, managers, or leadership. We're extremely proud of this.
They are not required. You can use Assembly without having rewards set up. However, we don't recommend it if you intend to have a high adoption and usage rate. You can always keep the costs down by offering internal culture rewards that are fulfilled by you internally.
No, you can remove allowances from anyone or everyone. It's up to you but we do recommend using points whether they're worth a real dollar value or not. Companies that use points have a much higher engagement rate even if those points don't exchange for real dollars.
