Boost employee learning with Assembly’s gift card program—easy, flexible, and perfect for professional development incentives.
In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, organizations recognize that continuous learning and professional development are essential for both employee satisfaction and long-term success. Yet, motivating employees to engage in training programs remains a persistent challenge. Traditional incentives often fall short, but a new solution is gaining traction: gift cards. Flexible, personal, and scalable, gift cards are revolutionizing how companies incentivize professional growth.
While the intrinsic desire to learn is powerful, it can be overshadowed by daily responsibilities and deadlines. Tangible incentives bridge this gap, providing immediate recognition and reinforcing positive behaviors. Gift cards, in particular, stand out as a preferred reward—offering flexibility, personalization, and a sense of genuine appreciation.
Unlike cash bonuses, which often blend into regular paychecks, gift cards feel like a special treat. Employees can select rewards that matter most to them, whether it’s a favorite retailer, a streaming service, or even a charitable donation. This autonomy amplifies the perceived value of the reward, making employees more likely to participate in training and development opportunities.
Gift cards tap into both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Externally, they provide a clear, immediate benefit for completing a course or achieving a certification. Internally, the act of choosing a reward makes the accomplishment feel more personal and meaningful. Digital gift cards also offer instant gratification—delivered via email or text, often accompanied by celebratory animations and personalized messages that turn recognition into a memorable moment.
For remote and hybrid teams, gift cards are especially effective. They eliminate logistical challenges, ensuring all employees—regardless of location—can participate equally. Gift cards can be tailored to different milestones, from course completions to skill demonstrations, and integrated seamlessly into existing learning management systems.

That means nearly every employee across all of our customers are receiving regular recognition from their peers, managers, or leadership. We're extremely proud of this.
They are not required. You can use Assembly without having rewards set up. However, we don't recommend it if you intend to have a high adoption and usage rate. You can always keep the costs down by offering internal culture rewards that are fulfilled by you internally.
No, you can remove allowances from anyone or everyone. It's up to you but we do recommend using points whether they're worth a real dollar value or not. Companies that use points have a much higher engagement rate even if those points don't exchange for real dollars.
